About TNAU

In 1920, the college was affiliated with the University of Madras with the introduction for the first time, a three-year degree program was started. The Agricultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore was the only and one institute for agricultural education for the whole of the South India, It was ingrained in 1971.

TNAU has 36 Research Centers for agrotechnology development and 14 Farm Science Centers for outreach. The University represents 13 Undergraduate Degree Programs, 29 Postgraduate Degree Programs, and 26 Doctoral Programs in 14 Colleges distributed in 11 campuses all over Tamil Nadu.

TNAU Admissions

TNAU provides both entrance and merit-based admissions. The application forms regarding entrances and admission are available online. Some other details are elaborated below:

B.Tech and B.Sc.: The candidate has to appear in 10+2 examinations relevant with 55% aggregate.

Diploma Course Admission Criteria

The candidate should have passed 10+2 exams.

Admission to M.Tech requires a bachelor's degree issued by a university recognized by TNAU apart from scores in the internal Entrance Test for shortlisting, while the requirement for admission to M.Sc. & MBA courses is the same.

The candidate should have passed post-graduation in the relevant field for admission to M.Phil.+Ph.D.

All admissions are through TNAU Counselling; thus, students applying directly to TNAU or its affiliated colleges have to apply for Counselling.

It provides admission to only those students who are domicile of Tamil Nadu or who have studied there.

Undergraduate admissions are strictly based on merit. The counseling process is followed for online-registered students. The university organizes a counseling process after which the shortlisted candidates are contacted for seat allocation.

In MSc and MBA, admissions are made based on an entrance test conducted by the university in which the prime sections are tested:

General Agriculture: 15 marks

Aptitude: 10 marks

Specific subject : 75 marks

Students who get qualified are then short-listed for group discussion.

The application fee for general category students is INR 1000 (INR 500 for SC/ST) per subject. The mode of fee payment is online.
